COMMUNITY SUPPORTS THE CROSSROADS PREGNANCY CENTRE BABY SHOWER

February 15th the hall of Ascension parish was filled with balloons, baby gifts and over 120 women.  This was the 20th Anniversary of the Crossroads Pregnancy Crisis Centre in Nanaimo. One of the few faith-based organizations who endorse the Pro-life approach.

Palliative care and Hospice care are cornerstones of the 2017 objectives for the CWL. This was confirmed at our Spring Convention when a panel of experts brought us up to date on the legal, medical and spiritual aspects of this challenging issue.

What do we define as the hole in our life? In Mathew Kelly’s Lenten messages*, he asks us to examine all the material things we feel we need and wonder why they don’t fill that “hole” in our lives.  He suggests that hole is called a “God Hole” and only God can fill it....

The Catholic Women’s of Canada has supported the “Pornography Hurts” campaign for many years.  In addition, we have drafted resolutions to halt Human Trafficking.
We are the largest Catholic Women’s organization in Canada with over 84,000 members who have a strong lobbying voice for change.  We need everyone to speak to family and friends about this very serious and potentially life-altering addiction....

DYING AT HOME…A DREAM FOR ALL- A REALITY FOR FEW.

In 2014, my husband accepted nothing more could be done for his failing heart and he was designated a Palliative Patient.  We were assured this was not an immediate death sentence but his months of life were quickly ebbing. All he wanted to know from the Doctor was “can I die at home”?  what a loaded question that was....
